Elizabeth Dinkel
Elizabeth has been doing art since she was a child. She attended the art program at Western Tech in Toronto, after which she took night classes at Ontario College of Art and at Central Tech. In Belleville, she took many classes through Loyalist College. She has also attended several open-studio life-figure drawing classes at the Florence Academy of Art in Italy. She enjoys acrylics, oils and pencils but she prefers pastels above all.
From time to time, she exhibits her art in Dinkel’s Restaurant in Belleville. She has also exhibited in the Belleville Library’s Parrott Gallery, at Gallery ArtPlus and at the Quinte Arts Council. Her art is in private collections in Canada, Switzerland and Italy
Elizabeth has her own large studio in downtown Belleville and she encourages other artists to join her in drawing live models once a week.
“I have enjoyed drawing portraits for 40 years. Young, old, male or female all fascinate me. We are all so different and getting a likeness is a real challenge. I love watching the person come to life on my paper right before my eyes.”
