As an artist, I am moved by colour and the change in seasons and the beauty of the natural world. Through the richness of oil paint I allow myself to express that joy.
After a successful career in nursing, I decided to devote my retirement years to painting. I paint every day, and it brings me such joy. Having completed many large floral paintings, I eventually turned to impressionistic landscapes. Working from an inspirational photo, on a black canvas... I sketch my scene using cadmium red... working from light to dark. This method brings both depth and warmth to my painting.
