The Whimsical Works of Terry Culbert
Terry has drawn since childhood - since he could hold a pencil. Upon graduation with honours from Beal School of Art in London, Ontario, his career path took him into television news. For the first few years he worked as an illustrator in the news department. Forty-two years were spent in television behind and in front of the camera, cartooning and illustrating throughout. During that time, Terry wrote and illustrated two books: County Roads and Lucan, Home of the Donnellys.
Today, he is a full-time artist, creating alongside his life partner, BarbHögenauer, in their in-house studio-gallery named County Studio, located at 3339 Prince Edward’s County Road 2 (just west of Hwy #62), Mountain View, Ontario.
Utilizing drawing skills and love for colour, Terry’s works vary from whimsical to illustrative. Each canvas tells a story, often humorous, always bold.
Terry’s paintings can be found at Side Street Gallery in Wellington, Gallery 121 in Belleville and at their County Studio in the Ameliasburgh’s hamlet of Mountain View.
Terry Culbert is still in broadcasting. He’s been the host of the Friday Morning Show from 6–10 am on 99.3 County FM since the station went on the air in 2014.
